Our Code of Conduct

South Philly Punks with Lunch is a mutual aid movement with a harm reduction focus that takes an intersectional, grassroots approach to community care. We are a collective of all sobrieties committed to moving in love and kindness by smashing capitalism, dismantling racism, destroying rape culture, and by reducing the stigma around drugs and the people who use them. We are a queer, trans, and survivor-led collective that believes everything should be free.

What is a Punk? A Person Unwavering and Neighborly with their Kindness. We reduce harm by equipping our most vulnerable neighbors with the things they need to stay well! This ranges from food to Narcan to the occasional pepper spray or tent. We prioritize working with organizations that demonstrate a commitment to safety, and we highlight our comrades who are pioneering the work in Kensington while we fortify a citywide network that helps our homies thrive.

South Philly Punks with Lunch was started in 2020 with good intentions, and we were rooted with love in 2024 with the help of our community, our partners, and our peers. We are honored to serve an eclectic community made vibrant by people who use drugs, and we look forward to a future with safer spaces. Rape/rape culture, racism, misogyny, and transphobia are never welcome anywhere, but they are especially not welcome here. We encourage all our Punks to see themselves as the community leaders they are and to strive to be the best version of themselves when interacting with our group.

Effective immediately, we will no longer be posting photos of all our volunteers. We believe harm reduction can be a pathway to recovery and we want safe people of all lived experiences to feel comfortable participating in our group! We are continually restructuring into caucuses so that smaller groups can work together and keep everyone safe and supported without disrupting the horizontal organizing style our Punks enjoy. All paid Punks will be posted (pictures and bio) on all of our social media, and we invite the community to join us in their welcoming. If a paid Punk is found to be in violation of our code of conduct, their pay will be rescinded, and they will be required to participate in an accountability plan led by their survivor(s), who will be supported by our group. The accused Punk will be encouraged to seek outside support and should refrain from contacting their victims and people inside our group. Failure to make a resolution that satiates the harmed will result in the accused Punk’s immediate and permanent dismissal.

If any Punk is accused of an egregious offense such as sexual assault, misogyny, or racism, they will be removed from all SPPWL activities, including communications, immediately. In some cases (i.e., verbal misunderstandings), the survivor, witness, and/or advocate will have 30 days to submit their testimony and/or evidence to a special email address, and/or the Punk(s) of their choosing and a group meeting without the accused will be prioritized. As a survivor-led collective, we welcome you to participate in this process with us so we can grow together. There is no room for rape culture anywhere, but especially not in harm reduction, and we aim to have our Punks smash the patriarchy and other genocidal systems like racism and capitalism whenever possible. We will remedy all concerns as quickly as we can, but serving our guests will always be our focus.

South Philly Punks with Lunch is run entirely by human beings with the help of digital tools like Discord and Instagram. If you find any of our punks in violation of our code of conduct, please notify us as soon as possible.
